XVIIth International Liturgical Conference ALTAR Recent acquisitions, new questions
The altar was the subject of the International Liturgical Conference in Bose in 2003. We return to it to present the latest results of historical studies in the past fifteen years and to discuss new questions that have arisen. Particular attention will be given to New Testament foundations of the Christian altar and to its image today, to the complex co-presence of the historical altar and the requirements of the Council’s liturgical reform, the inseparable connection between altar and ambo, the correlation between artistic search, serial production, and functionality. The testimony of the experience of architects and artists who have confronted the subject of liturgical space and the fabrication of altars will be decisive.ThemeAltar. Recent acquisitions, new questions
